Hard to believe — but Unexpected Realities is back, after six years of inactivity! I’m still deciding on what I want to accomplish with this site, but the first big steps are done. Domain renewed (important), disk space cleared, junk mail deleted, super old embarrassing files deleted, Photoshop back on my computer, and WordPress installed. When I was a teenager, we didn’t have fancy programs like WordPress. I wrote all my own code. But thank goodness for sites like WordPress, because ain’t nobody got time for that.
I decided to keep the domain unexpectedrealities for several reasons. Over the years, I have told myself to let it go – but I always kept renewing it for some reason. I first launched this site in 2003. The meaning of it has meant different things to me over the years, but it is especially applicable to me now. The name is based off of Colossians 2:17 NIV – “These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.”
In a couple of weeks, I will be sharing my first official post for the site’s relaunch. This post is one the main reasons that pushed me to start designing/blogging again.
I have a lot of learning to do. Now off to research how to convert PSD files into WordPress themes.
